About Sammamish Montessori School (SMS)

The Sammamish Montessori School (SMS) has been proudly serving families in the Redmond community since 1977. For nearly five decades, SMS has provided a carefully prepared Montessori environment for children ages 18 months (Toddler) through 9 years (Lower Elementary) — nurturing curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS), SMS upholds the highest standards of Montessori education.

With more than 250 students, 60 dedicated staff members, and over 25 credentialed Montessori Guides, the school blends the proven Montessori philosophy with enrichment opportunities in STEAM, Art, Spanish, Music, and more. Conveniently located near Microsoft and Amazon’s Redmond campuses, SMS offers over 25,000 square feet of outdoor play space and provides a safe, stimulating environment.  Rooted in a tradition of excellence, SMS has guided more than 5,000 children in their early years of growth, helping each child build the foundation for confidence, creativity, and success in school and in life.
